Happy New Year! We Made It!!!

Happy 2019!!!! For many, today is just another day, but I want you to look at today as a RESET! A new beginning. Another opportunity to make the best of the life God has given you. A time to let the disappointment of the past year go! An opportunity to still accomplish all of the things you promised yourself you would do in 2018 or even previous years.
I'm not sure why I'm so excited about this day. I literally feel different and, for some reason, very excited. Excited in part because 2018 is finally over. (Thank You LORD!!) Last year was one of the hardest years for me since losing my younger brother in 2012 and although most won't speak it, MANY people had a very difficult year last year too. For as many good things that have happened for some, a lot of difficult things happened just the same if not more. If you're one of those people, just know you're not alone!!! Many have chosen to suffer in silence! I chose to be transparent about my struggles because I realize it helps so many!
If you follow me on Facebook, last week I asked my followers to write down on a sheet a paper a list of things they needed to leave in 2018. On Saturday I made my list which, to my surprise, ended up being 4 pages long. Sounds like a lot right? Well I dug DEEP! So deep that I went back to things I've been carrying for years that I needed to let go. This exercise wasn't about people but about me! I had to be brutally honest with myself and address things about me that needed to change. I knew deep down these things were holding me back. I sat there for an hour writing and when I was done I asked my spirit, "what else?" and surprisingly I got an answer.
Once I was satisfied with the list, I got down on my knees and asked God to release me from everything on those pages and fill me up with what I needed to move forward into 2019. I then burned the list and as I watched the words on the page turn to ash, I knew that was my purification. I then got in the shower and scrubbed myself from head to toe with the intention of clearing all of the old/negative energy.
I'm not sure what made me come up with this idea but I'm glad I did. I GENUINELY felt a difference. Not only did I feel different, but within two days God filled my life with blessings. I can't say whether it was the act of what I did, or my prayers or my belief that those things were gone. But I can tell you that it worked for me!!! And now I'm filled with excitement at what's to come.
For those of you who have been in pain or carrying old behaviors that no longer work, find a way to release it. You can do what I did or whatever your heart or your spirit tells you to do. Do you what must, but don't allow yourself to repeat the same patterns in 2019! I refuse to and so should you!
Happy New Year once again. Make this year the year that's dedicated to your GROWTH!!!!
